Genetically Modified Corn Seed

Overview

Two major Agricultural Companies disputed a number of patents involving corn seed that had been genetically modified to resist pests, resist pesticides, and improve yield. Multiple patents were disputed resulting in four separate trials over two years.

Our Role

Along with courtroom technology and support, we provided presentations for opening and closing arguments and expert testimony at trial, and a variety of presentations related to claim construction. Among the slides were illustrations and simple animations to explain the basic workings of Bt-corn, in general, along and the specific technology in dispute for each patent. The visuals that explained the most fundamental aspects of the science and technology could to be reused in several of the disputes.
